Sunday, 12 September, the Annual Dubbo City and Gilgandra Toyota Gold Cup was held at the Dubbo Turf Club.  Covid might have kept us from attending, but it did not keep us from having a great time!

Many thanks to the Turf Club for pulling off an incredible digital event with fun, fashion and some incredibly exciting racing.

Fashions on the Futon had some gorgeous entries: bright spring colours and delicate, flowy, feminine frocks were the trend.  Congratulations to our winners: Sally Martin, Nicola Snaith and Zara Castellaz-Faico.

The $30,000 All New Kluger Hybrid Benchmark 58 Showcase Handicap was taken out by Music Miss, trained by Kody Nestor and ridden by Liam Blanch.

The $40,000 Unbreakable Flying Hilux Handicap was a thrilling race coming down to a four way photo finish!  In the end, Kateru pulled through for the win, coming from almost last along the fence.  Trained by Mark Schmetzer and ridden by Madeline Owen, this was one of the most exciting races of the day.

The $100,000 Dubbo City and Gilgandra Toyota Gold Cup was taken home by Aesop's Fable, trained by Peter Sinclair and ridden by Ashley Morgan.

With all the challenges that were faced this year, the Dubbo Turf Club has pulled off an amazing event and certainly set the bar high for what we can expect next year.

Congratulations to all involved! We will see you trackside in 2022!
