Plus, opening and closing the tailgate is now easier and more satisfying with lift-assisting steel brackets replacing the cable design on all HiLux pickup variants.

Plus, a wireless phone charger is included with automatic SR5, Rogue and GR Sport.
Cameras & sensors
Park and reverse with confidence. All pick-up variants come with a reversing camera, while SR5, Rogue and GR Sport (pick-ups) feature 6 sensors front and rear, with sonar detection status visible on the display [S1].

Load up. Toyota towing technology means 4x4 HiLux variants have a 3.5 tonne braked towing capacity [G6].
4x4
The HiLux SR 4x4 Double Cab Auto, SR5 and Rogue feature rear differential lock, low range 4WD and Downhill Assist Control[S1].
Boost your drive with V-Active technology
A 48-volt motor-generator system that assists engine performance and
regenerates through deceleration is now available for the HiLux SR and SR5
(4x4 double-cab AT only).
Power assistance
Enjoy the responsive drive feel from assisted acceleration with added torque.
Multi-Terrain Select (MTS)
Activate slow-crawl speeds for more controlled handling in dirt, rock, mud, sand and snow.
Regenerative energy

Downhill Assist Control
Simply push a button to activate Downhill Assist Control, designed to help you avoid locking up on slippery, steep and rocky downhill sections. Standard on SR 4x4 Double-Cab Auto, SR5 4x4 and Rogue.
Road Sign Assist
Front mounted smart cameras recognise certain Australian speed signs and alert you when it's time to change your speed[S1].
Pre-Collision Safety system
Using the HiLux’s built-in camera and radar, the Pre-Collision Safety (PCS) system has been designed to alert you when a frontal collision is likely with another vehicle, pedestrian or Daytime Cyclist, and if required will help you apply the right amount of brake pressure[S1].
Trailer Sway Control
Stay on the straight and narrow and tow safely. HiLux comes standard with Trailer Sway Control, an intelligent safety technology designed to correct and help minimise sway [S1].
Lane Departure Alert
The HiLux will sound a buzzer and display a visual warning on the Multi-Information Display, if it senses you have veered out of your lane while travelling at more than 50km/h[S1].
High-Speed Active Cruise Control
Using its built-in camera and front-grille-mounted radar, HiLux keeps you at a pre-selected speed, automatically accelerating and decelerating with the traffic in front[S1].
