Dubbo City Toyota & Gilgandra Toyota is excited to announce the appointment of Ben Thompson as Dealer Principal.
Dubbo City Toyota & Gilgandra Toyota has been locally operated and owned in partnership with Servco Australia for more than 12 years and it will remain so when Ben Thompson succeeds David Hayes as Dealer Principal.
David had long been a part of the Toyota family before moving his family to Dubbo from Dalby, Queensland more than 15 years ago to join Dubbo City Toyota as General Manager. David’s commitment to the business has seen it grow exponentially with the addition of Gilgandra Toyota plus the addition of some 40 extra staff to cater for the extra demand. Dubbo City Toyota & Lexus of Central West boasts a recently renovated first class facility. Dubbo City Toyota and Gilgandra Toyota has previously been recognised by Toyota Australia by winning its President’s Award 15 times (the Pinnacle in Excellence) as well as the Australian Toyota Dealer of the year.
“Dubbo City Toyota & Gilgandra Toyota is a company that considers people to be our greatest asset and succession planning is and has been extremely important to our business,” David said. “Ben has been an integral part of the team for more than 12 years and General Manager for the past 5 and a half years. His commitment to the business, focus on delivering excellence at every interaction and resulting successes, meant that he was a natural choice for the role in my succession plan.”
Ben’s appointment as Dealer Principal will commence on Monday 31 January 2022. Guests can still expect to be taken care of with the kind of passion and expert knowledge that they have come to know at the Dealership.

David will remain part of the team at Dubbo City Toyota, Gilgandra Toyota & Lexus Central West as a Director and shareholder of the company plus work closely with Toyota Australia with various Dealer Council roles and committees he is a part of. David will also continue to sit on the board of the Australia Automotive Dealers Association.
“Brenda and I love living in Dubbo and we will be here for the medium term with our 3 daughters and granddaughter. I plan to still be heavily involved in the company as Director and Shareholder plus I will continue with our community involvement across our broad customer area” David said.
